Search result from File share not opening

Hi All,

I have created a search scope for searching a file share and it is working correctly showing results from file share. However, when i click on the search result nothing happens. The URL pointed by the link is correct and opens up the document when i try it from new window. I have checked out lot of forums where it is mentioned to update the search core result web part xsl and add target="_blank". I added it and it works fine with SharePoint document results but again nothing happens with file share results. Is this a limitation in SharePoint or their is any other solution available? I am using SP 2010.
