I have enabled a Full Crawl on my site collection. It came up with over a 1000 errors although there were over a 1000 successes returned too according to the crawl log. Rather than look at the 1000+ errors, I created another content source to crawl.
That new content source is a sub-site document library in my site collection. There isn't a lot of data so the full crawl takes less than two minutes which makes things more convenient to test. Unfortunately, I am getting an error and no successes on this smaller content source crawl too. Needless to say, when I try to search that sub-site library after the crawl is finished, I do not return any results.
Here is the error:
Access is denied. Verify that either the Default Content Access Account has access to this repository, or add a crawl rule to crawl this repository. If the repository being crawled is a SharePoint repository, verify that the account you are using has "Full Read" permissions on the SharePoint Web Application being crawled.
I have taken the following steps :
--Ensured that the web application is being crawled by the servername/spsearch account
--Ensured spsearch has FULL READ on the application
--Ensured that the subsite is index enabled
--Added spsearch to the Visitors group on the site then tried adding spsearch to the Owners groups on the site
--Ensured the spsearch account is not locked out
--Ensured to always index all web part on the site
One thing I did not try was to edit the Registry of the server and disable the loopback check because I would like to see if anyone has any other recommendations first. Thank you in advance!
