When querying the search.asmx web service (just default SharePoint 2010 search i.e. not FAST) I cannot retrieve the ows_FileDirRef and ows_FileRef field. I can see that the asset library I am querying has values for these fields when using the list web service.
I need to use the search service as the search gives the user better searching techniques. I just need these field to make some changes to the search results on a bespoke web site i.e. not using the SharePoint interface.
Are there some restrictions to what the search can return as some fields work OK e.g. I created a managed property mapped to the crawled property ows_FileLeafRef and this could be searched and returned in the results OK, however I cannot return the fields ows_FileDirRef and ows_FileRef even though they are setup the same way as ows_FileLeafRef. It appears that the crawl is the issue as the fields seem to be available for selecting in the search results but with no value.
Do you know if there are any restrictions with regards to crawling ows_FileDirRef and ows_FileRef?
